Over the course of three days, my NTU Fine Art second year cohort were based at Surface Gallery, Nottingham, for a residency. The artist collective I was part of - named Nudelstyropor (German for polystyrene pasta)- developed an installation that was our crazy but fabulous mix of Alice in Wonderland, psychedelic adventure and carnage filled picnic. We also filmed a performance piece for this installation of our group making an absolute mess and covering the floor with jelly, which was great fun to create, even more so as I’ve never created performance art before, or ever really considered it. I had so much fun working with my amazing group, and seek out this level of fun within my artwork, trying to channel that energy we had for this project.
